I had only had minor problems with Insight and had not required a visit for 3 or 4 years - my signal was too low at that time and the tech installed a tap at the pole that solved my problems.
At the time my son and his family lived downstairs and he had TVs in three rooms in addition to my 2 TVs and Internet Connection. We subscribed to EVERY channel - bill was $190 a month - no problem.
Two - three years ago, my DVR failed and when the tech came out to replace it he checked the signal - way too hot BUT when I explained we had 2 or 3 DVRs and two digital boxes and a TiVo installed PLUS Broadband and never had problems, he left it alone. My son and his family moved away and I only had 1 DVR, Digital Box and BB. For two+ years I've had only minor glitches with either Cable or Broadband.
On Feb 21 my broadband experience turned into a nightmare and now ComCast Customer service has turned it into a horror film.
These are screen shots from my modem (Insight supplied RCA) with date and time listed.
March 6, 2008 0645 AM - Before tech touched anything.

March 6, 2008 0325 PM - After replacement of pole tap and all splitters.

On March 8, 2008, a contractor installed a new line from pole to house for the other apartment in the building. They had been using the TV feed from my subscription which was fine with me as long as they paid me half for it - they paid two months out of twelve and I told the tech that if their connections were interfering with mine, disconnect them. I guess he did because they were not happy with me the evening of March 6, 2008 and on the morning of the seventh, I was forced to invite the police to fix their lack of respect for me and my privacy.
On Saturday evening, March the 8th, my DVR started acting up - I could not get On Demand to even load (to be honest I almost never even bother) and the picture was breaking up badly on High Def channels. On Sunday and Monday, Mar 9 and 10 respectfully, my DVR did not record the shows I setup and it was resetting every so often - as if I had removed the power or lost power for a second.
Sometime between March 10 and March 12 the return path frequency changed to 32.
March 12, 2008 1004 PM - The night before the 2nd tech visit.
March 13, 2008 0924 AM - Right before second tech changed splitter installed on March 6, 2008.
March 14, 2008 0628 AM - The morning after the second tech BUT before the third tech is due to do his thing today.
Today between 1 and 3 a third tech is scheduled to visit. I do not know why but the CSR says it must be this way before I can get kicked up the chain - he must have seen someting on the tests he can run - just didn't bother to tell me.
